The Cold & Lovely

Megan Toohey (The Weepies, Lenka, Schuyler Fisk), Nicole Fiorentino (Bizou, Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Spinnerette) and Patty Schemel (Hole) released their self-titled debut, "The Cold & Lovely", in 2012. Needless to say, I was honored when this "super group" asked me to create the artwork and packaging for it!

 

Released both digitally and in a small run of slim CD eco-packaging, this project was an enjoyable and surreal experience for me. Especially months after its release when the photographer of the iceberg image I'd licensed for the artwork contacted me about it. As it turned out, he was a German scientist on an expedition in the Antarctic where he'd taken several shots of icebergs and was thrilled to find out his photo was used for an album cover. After I relayed the story to the band, they were awesome enough to send him a signed copy of the album!
